How I plan to spend the next few months of my life, such as it is

Thanks for all the song requests: it looks like the clear favorite is "I Believe in You," so consider it done. It's at least theoretically possible that we can do most of the others, too. One tip in advance: the best time to ask for a particular song on a particular night is before we play; raising the issue afterwards doesn't make much sense. You'd be surprised how many people seem to get caught by surprise by that one. Just trying to help.

Anyway, here is the initial list of dates for the Yesterday Rules tour. There are still some holes to fill, some other activities to fit between even the stuff without holes, and a gap at the end that will soon be filled. But there, or rather here, you have it:

Any Canadian dates in the works?

Posted by: Lynn at December 18, 2003 06:32 PM

Please do a show in St. Louis. I can help either book or promote.

Posted by: griffin at December 18, 2003 07:51 PM

I know, I know, the message boards are about to get filled up with requests for "please play my home town", all of which will very likely have little affect on what is actually possible for the band.

So it consider it more therapeutic whining than a request when I also bemoan the lack of a St. Louis show. Oh the pain of being centrally located while bands schedule "ring around the US tours"...I guess I'll have to make sure my oil's changed mid-February.

Ack! No Philly? First the Wrens, now MTX. I've got to move to a better city...

Sweet, Baltimore date. Unexpected pleasant surprise.

Posted by: JB at December 18, 2003 09:55 PM

larry, see "fireside bowl, 2/17/04" they're coming!

Posted by: raedy at December 18, 2003 10:58 PM

Wait... no Sacramento date? Jesus fucking Christ, how you guys are getting the cover of Alive and Kicking is beyond me.

Posted by: Bobby M at December 18, 2003 11:48 PM

Actually, Bobby M., the Sacramento show is being set up-- this initial list is only the confirmed shows so far.

Posted by: Dr. Frank at December 18, 2003 11:53 PM

Did that guy from Olympia, WA ever write to you? He was supposed to. You should play there on Feb. 10th so that I get to see you more!

Posted by: Rebekah at December 19, 2003 12:25 AM

All you American whingers can zip it! (Seeing as MTX has just announced 30 dates in that particular country) Quit complaining that they arnt playing within a 200 meter radius of your sofa & buy a car or something. PS. Frank, some UK/Europe action would be excellent!

Posted by: Danny at December 19, 2003 01:29 AM

That schedule looks totally insane by the way. There's a stretch of 20 straight nights in the middle, and I'm guessing TX woulda been too if not for the drive from Atlanta. Frank's a trooper.

Posted by: JB at December 19, 2003 02:31 AM

I can't wait for January 19 to see Dr. Frank again!

Posted by: DSE at December 19, 2003 07:10 AM

am soooo looking forward to yet another kick ass show at the fireside!

Posted by: resident jason at December 19, 2003 07:11 PM

No New Jersey?
No Philly?

Bummed out...

Posted by: Craig at December 19, 2003 07:29 PM

Well it looks like somebody's taking a thursday off work so he can truly experience a great rock show in baltimore without worrying about waking up for work in 4 hours.
I can't believe I'm talking like this, i'm not too old for the rock.

Posted by: chach at December 20, 2003 06:25 PM

the no philly show is a bummer indeed.

Posted by: tim at December 21, 2003 12:23 AM

Posted by: Riccardo Giṛm a'd Baṭl at December 21, 2003 11:06 PM

Rebekah, are you going to the Seattle show too?

Posted by: Nate at December 22, 2003 08:28 AM

Baltimore! Thank you!!!

Posted by: Hulka at December 24, 2003 08:52 PM

hey frank... i don't know if you remember me. i'm barbie from the WHOA-babies! we met you in the spring? when you played the city on that singer/songwriter tour and i asked for your oppinion on the cd and whatnot. i just wanted to inform that i now sport a pretty huge mtx tatt on my arm... it's a mixture of all the cd art from and the women who love them.. it's really neat plus, i'm getting a qoute added to it. i think it's gonna be "everywhere you've ever been you felt cutout and pasted in" and i'm definitely coming to your brooklyn date and it would seriously mean the world to me if you would actually sign my arm so i can get it tatt-ed on... i'm slowly dedicated my arm to you hahaha

Frank,

Any idea who you'll be playing with in Austin? Just curious. Kepi asked me to tell you hi and to do my part to make sure the Austin show goes well so I'll try and get alot of people out. Cheers and good luck.

Dr F.,

Never mind 'please play in my home town', how about 'please play in my home continent'? Any chance of coming to Europe again? I saw MTX at the London Garage in 96ish, was top drawer. Come back, we're not all Guardian-reading arty tosser elite.

and you shoud try reading Private Eye, if you haven't already.

much love
