The Fat People Want What the Skinny Peoples Got

From Bookslut's interview with Ian Rankin:

Being a frustrated rock star -- and let’s face it, most male crime writers are -- it’s terrific to actually get up there with proper musicians and play some gigs versus standing up in a bookshop reading from a book.

I know what it is like to have those thoughts. However, you are never going to be happy about yourself until you can learn to accept and love yourself the way you are right now. If you don't learn to accept yourself the way you are, you are always going to want to lose that last 5-10lbs. It's never going to be enough unless you learn to be comfortable in your skin the way you are right now, right at this moment.

And about guys not wanting to be around you, that's just bull. Guys don't want to be around you because of the way you feel about yourself. Men respond to confidence. A woman who has confidence in herself who may have plain features and a few extra pounds is far more attractive and alluring to a man than a skinny, beautiful girl who hates herself. Guys may not be that intuned to women, they're off most of the time, lets face it, but the one thing they are right on, 100% tuned into is that they are attracted to confidence!

So suck it up and start loving yourself and the people around you will start to take notice...even if you dont drop a pound.
