I went out with Harold Pinter's niece in 1960. Hackney Young Socialists. Nice, romantic girl. If only these were orange groves she said, staring at the street lights in Clapton High Road. Wore green stockings. Went off with a Trotsky lookalike. Wonder what happened to her. Pinter was intriguing and baffling then.
