In the Realm of the Governator, and Beyond

Here's the info about tonight's show in Sacramento:

Saturday - 2/7/2004
Capitol Garage, Sacramento, CA
1427 L. St., Sacramento
doors: 8:30, a/a
with the Helper Monkeys and the Losing Streaks

Give dese people air!

And following is the updated show list: the main changes are filling in details like show times and the other bands on the bill. Note that the Lawrence, KS show is quite early (doors at 4pm, MTX plays at 7:15pm); and some kind of show in New Mexico will probably happen on 3/7, though nothing is confirmed yet. I would call the venues if stuff like that matters to you, as I'm sure there are inaccuracies. And if you discover any, leave a comment to let us know. Or you could just show up at some random time and hope for the best. That's usually our plan, intentional or otherwise.

A famous man once said "touring is never boring." That's absolutely true if you scrunch up your face and try to make your voice drip with sarcasm when you say it. Touring is quite frequently boring, in fact. So chances are we'll just be hanging around, looking for something to do at any given moment. If you come by, maybe we can play the bar video-trivia game or something if anybody has any quarters. But I warn you, my "brain" is rather well-stocked with trivia.

In any case, if you're in any of these towns, feel free to stop by, consume some beverages, buy a Tshirt or something, say "hi." It may not seem like much now, but you'll be storing up treasure in heaven. Well, maybe not with the saying "hi" part: that's up to you and as far as I know earns you no compensation in the hereafter. But I understand the Tshirt ploy actually works.

10 days until you blowup Chicago, I can't wait!! I'm actually meeting with someone who posted in here before and we started talking...if we end up getting married you will be obligated to play at the reception - just because you asked SO nicely =D

I was wondering if or "More Than Toast" was going to be on your set list, it's me & my best friend's favorite song and over our years of petty quarrels that tune has always gotton us through. Thanks - see ya soonly!

Allyson, marriage is a distinct possibility after you go see The Mr. T Experience. My wife and I saw MTX, The Wynona Riders and Tilt at Gilman Street on one of our first dates. It was friday, March 24th, 1995. I remember nearly everything about that show. Skip, from the WR was dressed like a clown, and, if memory serves, Joel told this joke:
Q: What did the bra say to the hat?
A: You go on a head, I'll give these two a lift.

I've always considered We Hate All The Same Things to be "our" song.

Have a great tour, Doctor F.

(thanks for allowing me the Kasey Kasem moment--I think I'll go wring out my hankie now.)

Woo, I'm hoping to make it to the show at the Meow Meow.

well dr. you can be sure to find me in oklahoma waiting for you to perform the last show of the tour. would slims have been the first show? if not, i'm still coming pretty close to seeing the first and last show of the tour. anyway, my favorite "electric" mtx song is when i lost you. i have seen you cats 4 times live and have never heard it performed. is it just not usually in the lineup? and how on earth did you get the beautifully chaotic exaggerated 60's fuzz on that song? i would guess some crazy distortion pedal going straight through the board ampless, but who knows. i have always wondered.

the new address for the Meow Meow is: 320 SE 2nd. It's the old B-Complex, and right around the corner from the old Glass Factory, the first place I saw MTX after I moved to Portland...
