Look, Ma, I'm quasi-famous

Thanks, Beth.

So if you get fifteen minutes of being famous, how much time do you get for quasi-fame? I'd think a good couple hours, anyway.

Quasi-fame is the cryonics of superstardom. You don't get to do as much with it, but at least you last a lot longer.

I, for one, am very much looking forward to the book. But it makes me think about book tours and whether or not a pre-signing speech would consist only of "Hi, I'm Dr. Frank from Berkeley, CA and this is a book about a girl."

Wait, so you really ARE writing a book? "King Dork"? Really? kewl

It's just, The writing style in that column made it hard to read re: sarcasm or no and know what to take seriously. read it 3 times, too. Was just a bit confusing. (Also, phrases like: YA "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" - how to parse? what is YA? YA Tittle?)

Maybe my sarkometer is just on the fritz. Or, gettin' old. Yeah, probably that old thing.

YA = Young Adult

My fiance does the marketing for a bookstore (www.bookpeople.com) and is ready for the Dr. Frank book tour.

and here i always thought if frank ever wrote a book, its title would include the words "ontology" and "heidegger."

Just got back and getting "updated." Great to see you at Kimo's Frank. I was kind of stunned at the lack of a crowd for the Unlovables but they rocked as they always do. Looking forward to the new book...
