Intellectually Motivation

Check out Nelly's P.I.M.P. scholars program. Pimp stands for "Positive Intellectual Motivated Person."

I did not know that.

But is this scholar program easy?

Yeah......that was a pretty bad one. But humor me with a rimshot somebody please. Can't blame a guy for trying.

I think he may have the right idea. That acronym will catch the eye of someone-possibly a someone who has never thought of trying for a scholarship. Plus Nelly lending his name to it will give it a bit more publicity.
But I suppose he could have thought up something that would sound a little more serious.

I actually applied for his other community scholarship program for the slightly less gifted...

"Heedful
Of
Education (as the)
Basis
And
Groundwork"

...but I didn't have enough junk in my trunk to qualify. Too bad.

Are the gold cane and big feathery hat included with the diploma? Because that would be awesome.

Go to the site mentioned in that news item there and you will see that Mr. "Nelly" is also marketing an "energy drink" called, what else, "pimp juice". Look here: Letitloose.com.

There's even a pimp juice discussion forum. Not alot of action there yet but what is there so far is appropriately ridiculous.

Course, this guy's a lover not a gangster, from what I understand. Perhaps we'll see the more tough guy rap acts with their own brand of products and uplifting community service programs with acronyms like M.U.R.D.E.R.E.R. or A.R.S.O.N.I.S.T. or something.

I think Frank could make a fashion statement with maybe an ace bandage around his head or maybe playing the guitar with his arm in a sling or something. Rappers are funny, in a pathetic, degenerate sort of way.

Posted by: Zaphod Beeblebrox at August 10, 2004 05:38 PM

What a coincidence!! I was just thinking that Nelly could get his sorry, pathetic, degenerate ass together by putting his hair up in liberty spikes, and wearing a heavy, studded leather jacket with SUB/HUM/ANS painted on the back in liquid paper. It wouldn't hurt, either, if he became addicted to heroin, carved "NELLY" (or better yet, "PIMP") into his abdomen with broken glass, killed his girlfriend in a Manhattan dive motel and then OD'd. Or, best of all, he could become a junky and blow his head off with a shotgun in the guest house of his Seattle mansion.

Now THAT would be funny.

AND a fashion statement.

But it wouldn't be degenerative or pathetic.

Go, Sheckie! It's ya berfday!

Did I read correctly that Nelly's got a song with Tim McGraw on his new record? What the fuck is that? I like rap, so I think it's fair for me to say that Nelly is the biggest pussy ever.

Suppose it is the thought that counts... Still 10k dosen't sound like enough of a tax write off for me. You'd think the guy could spare a bit more.

Think I'd go for it just to have the line to add to my C.V.

Nelly+Tim McGraw=the total bastardization and selling out of country music. Hank(RIP) and George are crying.

Posted by: Zaphod Beeblebrox at August 11, 2004 05:27 PM

actually Zaphod, as i've said before both Hank Williams and Johnny Cash have been rolling in their graves for quites some time now because of new country alone. its old hat to them now.

Posted by: just me at August 11, 2004 07:03 PM

yeah it's really sad when people from different backgrounds and musical interest try to collaborate to make some sort of "art" or something, that's really pathetic. (sarcasm)
and sheckie, that was pretty funny!

Posted by: r a e d y at August 11, 2004 08:04 PM

hey i don't have a problem with "art. its not
that there can't be "musical license"...
it just has to be good.

Posted by: just me at August 11, 2004 09:42 PM

you know, "just me", adolph hitler had similar parameters for what art was good and bad... and he burned the stuff he didn't like. not that i'm comparing you to hitler or anything...

Posted by: myke at August 11, 2004 10:20 PM

btw that was a greenhouse, not a guest house. thank you.

Posted by: cap'n crunchy at August 11, 2004 10:21 PM

Lay off the Hitler stuff already, it's been 60 years...sheez... Maybe, just maybe....we'll all be lucky and Nelly will actually try to sing, like Kid Rock did with Sheryl Crowe. I'm not holding my breath though.

Posted by: Zaphod Beeblebrox at August 11, 2004 10:42 PM

gosh, 'just me', johnny cash hasn't even *been* in his grave all that long. he musta started spinning the second he hit the casket.

Posted by: joe at August 12, 2004 04:30 AM

hey, 'just me', that comment was totally not directed at you. so sorry if it sounded like it was. i was just being sarcastic about something someone else said after they had already made a broad sweeping generalization about rappers being pathetic. just some good sarcastic fun to be had by all! whooppieieee

Posted by: r a e d y at August 12, 2004 05:24 AM

Well, you know, new country is just that bad my friend. He didn't get any rest from the world by dying...either that or now i'm making stuff up.
That's not really what this whole thing is about
anyways I suppose.

If pop stars want to try to improve their
unfixably shallow image by opening schools
or what have you,I say let them...

...as long as they're good. ;)

Posted by: just me at August 12, 2004 06:16 PM

I tried to open a school once and look where it got me!!!
