But what if I don't want to be delogocentrized?

Worth a look: Johann Hari on Derrida.

What a roundabout way to slag Infinite Jest.
This idea is cool though; dead philosophers as launching pads for lit crit.
I hope he uses wittgenstein to trash the next harry potter book.

Frank, I'm sure you've probably heard about the Derrida obit printed in the NYTimes, and the response letter written by Samuel Weber and Kenneth Reinhard. Apparenlty, so many people responded to the obituary that the School of Humanities at UCI to created a website to record all the names.

Check it out here: http://www.humanities.uci.edu/remembering_jd/

FWIW, I thought the NYT piece was a sloppy and lousy obit. It mainly consisted of (mis)characterizations of deconstruction and quotes from people calling Derrida names and dismissing deconstruction, without any real effort to explain what Derrida argued or why anyone cared about him or it in the first place.
