Christian Chick-lit

The heroine, Whitney Blake, is a 30-year-old singleton looking for love and writing a diary.

Like Bridget Jones, Whitney battles with her weight and assorted neuroses. Unlike Miss Jones, however, she is a virgin whose life is free of heavy drinking and casual sex. Her diary is filled with inspiring biblical passages rather than a tally of cigarettes and calories. When she goes out on a date she wears strappy shoes "to represent the humble sandals of the Carpenter."

"She's not all Doom and Gloom, but she's not Miss Perfect either."

You just can't go wrong with that.

This sounds even LESS entertaining than Bridget Jones...

Well, it sounds like Judy Baer gained one customer and lost another. I admit I'm probably not going to read it, but I did like the sandals line.

The sandals line was hilarious. Jesus and Mary Magdalene used to debate for hours over the virtues of the flip-flop type (where the strap goes between your toes) vs the across-the-foot type (there's probably a name for these; I looked in the Bible but couldn't find it). And, of course, there's the question of how high the heels get before they become unChristian.
