1st-gen iPod.

How retro.

that's a nice stack of papers there.

what were you drinking?

Posted by: kendra at March 16, 2005 09:36 PM

Hey, your job is half finished already!

I see you're still using the buds that came with your pod. I have a G3 and hate buds. I bought some nice JVC ove the ears with a headband so that they wouldn't fall off or out when I run. Then again you don't need to run, you can sit around and drink all the beer you want while having the metabolism of a jack-rabbit. Damned skinny, near middle-aged people.

more importantly..which of his secret spots is this...i know of at least two in berkeley...

hmmm....inquiring minds want to know

Never been to Berkeley, the hippies frighten me and my midwestern values.

Posted by: Zaphod at March 18, 2005 10:55 AM

zaphod, berkeley is alarmingly normal when you get to the heart of it. it's quite easy to avoid the hippies when you want.

it's all that gentrification.

You should give us all a very small sneak preview of your book. You could do it in the style of something you posted a while back...It was like, the first sentence in the third paragraph on page 26, or something like that. Y'know, just a teaser...Maybe, please?

Are you looking for a stalker? I've always wanted to stalk someone, and I think I'd do a wonderful job. One weekend I will sneak down to Berkley and find you. I'll be too intimidated to aproach, but I'll still brag to all my friends that I ran into you. I will, you watch.

Oh, great look at what you've done now. Frank already gets the weirds from over-zealous fans. Now he's hding in his broom-closet with a flashlight and an unfinished pile of papers all of which have "King Dork must hide from stalker who's just a girl" written on them repeatedly in red ink. I hope you're proud of yourself.

converse: no longer made by converse. no longer made in america. no longer cheap. no longer as durable as they once were. why bother man?

Posted by: nick at March 19, 2005 05:59 PM

Oh no, it's the shoe police! The jig is up.

Posted by: lucky409 at March 19, 2005 07:07 PM

No, Nick has a point. The Ghoulies covered this issue a couple of years back. Now that Converse is made by Nike, they're supporting a switch to the more indie-friendly PF Flyers. They look a lot like Converse. I'm sure there are other alternatives as well.

I've still got a pair of blue Chuck Talyor All-Stars and Red Hawaiian print All-Stars that are in perfect shape. Maybe in a few years I can get ludicrous amounts of cash by selling them on e-bay.

Posted by: Zaphod at March 20, 2005 04:03 AM

i'd sell them, zaphod. there are loads of suckers out there who will buy them. you know the type- they must coordinate their converse shoes with each outfit.

stalkers in berkeley? how sad indeed. i though stalking was such a late 90s thing to do. just be sure to do your stalking out of my neighbourhood.

Posted by: kendra at March 20, 2005 09:30 AM

wow, I didnt say it, but i bought PF's when i gave up on Cons. They're made by New Balance, meaning they hold up really fucking well, and they're way better looking than Cons (Sacrilege??).

most of you folks probably know, but for those who don't-you can be socially conscious and wear comfy canvas shoes. I'm currently wearing the pink hi-tops from www.nosweatapparel.com
