Make 'em watch it

This interview with the chief executive for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting confirms what I probably should have suspected all along: the people who run PBS aren't actually that into TV and don't spend much time watching their own programming. When you think about it, is there any other way to explain all those ten-and-a-half hour John Bradshaw marathons?

"Sometimes I really just want a People magazine, and often that is in the evening, after a hard day."

oh man! the head of CPB reads people! i guess i can't snark too much because i read US weekly every chance i get, but still. that said, i never actually listen to KALX despite being one of the people who actually controls its programming.

I dig PBS. You have Red Green for the adults and Sesame Street & Mr. Rogers (reruns) for the kiddies.

cool! i don't think they show red green here that much or my roomate and i might be watching it religiously. she has tapes of his show so i saw yet more canadian greatness.

its sort of like Home Improvement without the wife and kids except its actually funny.

red green is great. i used to watch it all the time before i got the internet. i still watch it when i can find it, but it's not as good now. harold seems too old and adventures with bill have lost their appeal.

I disagree, Red Green is as good if not better than ever!! Duct Tape Forever (the movie) wasn't up to the TV show's standards. The odd thing is that in season 12 Harold moved to the city to get a real job, but in season 14 he's back at the lodge and it seems nothing changed, odd.

Yes, I've used the Red Green and Home Improvement analogy in about the same way you did, but Red's inventions used to always work, it seems in season 14 they never work.

Has anyone seen the one where he duct tapes two cars together to make an SUV? God I love that.

is that on the Duct Tape Virtuoso collection? It sounds familiar and hysterical. i liked it when he made a satelitte(spelling way off,oh well)
dish using an umbrella and duct tape...

"the handyman's secret weapon."

but we are assuredly wildly off topic now.

If the women don't find you handsome, at least let them find you handy.....in the bedroom (okay I added that last part)
