CGI Woes

Sorry about the (more or less) duplicate entries below. The url for the mp3 had a space in the wrong place, and editing it somehow created another post. I've tried to delete that, but:

I can't delete posts because most of the buttons in my MT pages (the ones at the bottom that say things like "delete," "check all," etc.) don't work for me for some reason. (That has been the case all along with this version of Movable Type, by the way.) The only one that works, I believe, is "save." I also can't use the preview function without all hell breaking loose, which is why I ended up with a misplaced space in the first place.

Basically, the cgi over here at Dr. Frank's What's-It is totally FUBAR, and this seems like as good a time as any to ask if anyone has any idea if it can be fixed. Anyone?

MT is upto 3.17, Dr. Frank. Try upgrading if you can.

I'd offer to take a look but I'm afraid of breaking it more than it already is ;-) I bet Dean could fix it though.

You can always try switching over to b2evolution ( http://b2evolution.net/ )

It seems to work alot better, be alot more stable. I switched over, and would never think of switching back.

b2e also allows you to import your posts from movable type, so you wouldnt lose all your old stuff.

Although switching would probably be more work than it would be worth

Well, this isn't really help, but maybe you can check it out later. I use a program called Ecto to write my MT blog. It's got all sorts of nice things, such as rich text editor, html tag shortcuts, and it will use your style sheet for previews. You can save as you work, so you won't lose things, and edits to posts are very easy. I don't spend a great deal of time in the MT interface anymore.

Oh, it's really pretty, if you are using a mac. I don't know what the windows version looks like.

You might want to look at a switch to Powerblogs. Better tech support, free upgrades, pricing's the same as what you're paying now.

You seem to have a lot of problems with this...No offense, but are you sure it's not just user error?

I've got the same problem with the delete button not working. You wouldn't happen to be using Safari?
