By Hook and Crook You Try to Look Both Angular and Flat

Well, folks, I've been pretty lax on the blogging front. If I don't act fast, these few posts will soon evaporate and condense in the archives, leaving nothing but links. It's happened before and it'll happen again.

What I've been doing: (a) the Suicide Girls gig; (b) trying to work on a second novel; (c) sorting out songs from the first novel and trying to figure out what to do with them; (d) writing my own songs and recording demos; (e) getting the band together, as always.

I'm pretty lazy, so I'm not saying I've got too far with any of it, but at least I'm getting out of bed and putting on pants and so forth (which is by no means a sure bet, let me tell you.) Fortunately I seem to be running out of internet and the TV schedule isn't making my dreams come true, so ultimately that means that more novel will get written. Because it has less competition for what's left of my attention span, right?

That's a full plate, don't forget to eat your peas!

...and by peas I mean adding 'get a tour going soonly' to that laundry list of things-to-do : )

Thanks for the update Frank...and for giving me a reason to visit SG other than just to spank (Quinne's Penny Arcade is the best).

Where will those songs be found once you've recorded them? What I'm obviously getting at is, where are you in this whole Lookout! deal? There are four people that I'd really like to see talk about this. That's you, Ben, Joe and Ted, but nobody's chimed in yet.

You could do a cover of "Short Attention Span" by the Fizzy bangers.

"There are four people that I'd really like to see talk about this. That's you, Ben, Joe and Ted, but nobody's chimed in yet."

That's the best idea I've heard in a while. Hey, maybe those guys could start a band.

Where everyone plays guitar and sings? That would pretty much make them the Travelling Wilburys of punk. I would want Frank to be their George Harrison, though he's probably more suited to sing Orbison's bits than the other three.

Hopefully they'd be smart enough to keep a record of that sorts on the shelves. The Traveling Willbury's record has been out of print for years.

Um...I agree with Allyson about the tour thing. But, Allyson, I think you made up the word "soonly." If we were playing scrabble, I would totally contest that play.

I also am quite upset that I can't get a Willbury's record. Oh well.

Frank,
When getting the band together will you attempt to come somewhere in the eastern half of Canada. I'm from Newfoundland and its very difficult to come see you guys but we do indeed sell a few MTX albums here. I work in a record store, we've sold a couple copies Love is dead, Alcatraz, but we never got Yesterday rules don't let that discourage you its shitty distribution and we really wanna see you, maybe you could goto Halifax or the "hub city", Moncton, New Brunswick where everyone from the coast can gather. Is this even possible in a dream world?

Damn! we're living practically parallel lives right now, except my novel's on hold in favor of 2 nonfiction books and, well...I never put pants on unless it's absolutely necessary!

(the joy of working at home)

Frank - it's sooooooooooo easy to have it display the last 20 entries, as opposed to the last 20 days worth of entries. That way, your blog doesn't suddenly disappear and leave the grey bar of links. It's like one word that you insert in the template for it all. Let me know if that interests ya...

I would have to agree and ask for a tour. Please. I've never had the pleasure.

Hey Mike McColgan, I'm from Newfoundland too, nice surprise.

This post is actually very interesting and quite similar to a recent post on my blog:

As long as you shower daily, you're doing okay.

this is for Christopher, just an FYI.
I recently found all three Traveling Willbury's
cd's from outside sellers via Amazon.com
I actually got Vol 1 and Vol 3 of the cd's
plus a real funky DVD of their few videos and
some off the wall interviews and "home footage"
It is quite vintage and only cost around $45.00
You should check it out. Just put in Traveling
Willbury's in the search on Amazon.com
They came all the way from Russia. Well worth
the investment.
