What the Voice of the People is saying is: ‘Look at that frightful ass Spode swanking about in footer bags! Did you ever in your puff see such a perfect perisher?

Harry of Harry's Place points out the lesson of the George Galloway Big Brother affair:

This should be a lesson for any budding British demagogues. You can be a servant for a brutal murderous dictator, you can be pally with dodgy dealers ripping off Iraq's poor under sanctions, you can strut around the East End stirring up hatred and give your support to death squads in the Middle East.

But never, ever embarass your middle class supporters and media friends by hanging out with 'chavs' on Big Brother.

i tried to watch celebrity big brother last year, but the group of celebs was less than thrilling. this year, galloway and jodie marsh have made it somewhat watchable. (pete burns scares me.) i'll be sad to see galloway go on friday, but i'd love to see his interview with davina.

i never understood why it's cool to thumb one's nose at lowbrow forms of entertainment, such as reality tv. it's just boring snobbery.

"In for a penny in for a pound"? "Chavs"? Is Dr. Frank going Madona? Blimey.

He's only quoting a Brit, not talking like one.

But if he does ever start that crap, I'm going to drive up there just to kick his ass.
