Losing it...

Ben has more taste and shame than me, apparently, because he had the decency to be embarrassed, but man Brokeback to the Future had me literally howling and shaking with laughter. Now I'm finished watching it, and I'm still shaking. (Though not actually still howling, thank God.) This could be a problem...

I love the internets.

I'm waiting for these parodies:

Brokeback to School
Sister Act 2: Brokeback in the Habit
Brockeback to the Beach
Brokeback from the Dead
Brokeback Kotter

That was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

A few select scenes from the trilogy with a few text edits and a country soundtrack. Not all that impressive nor funny IMO. Now give me some Mel Brooks and I'll show you funny! To each his own I guess....

You've seen the excellent Shining trailer remix, right? And possibly the decent West Side Story, and maybe even the acceptable Sleepless in Seattle? You can skip Top Gun (another Brokeback, even more poorly done).

The Empire Strikes Brokeback practically writes itself:
In a world where violence and war were the norm, a young man learns about the most important 'force' in the universe: love.
Yoda: "You must unlearn what you have learned."

"Yoda: I am wondering, why are you here?
Luke: I'm looking for someone.
Yoda: Looking? Found someone, you have, I would say, hmmm?
Luke: Right...
Yoda: Help you I can. Yes, mmmm. "

In a universe that could never understand....
"Luke: I don't know. I feel like...
Yoda: Feel like what?
[Luke whips around and pulls out his blaster in defense]
Luke: Like we're being watched. "

It was a love that would destroy him...
"Luke: No. No. That's not true. That's impossible.
Darth Vader: Search your feelings. You know it to be true.
Luke: Nooooo. Nooooo."

...But also fulfill him....
"Luke: I can't. It's too big.
Yoda: Size matters not."

etc. etc. etc.

That was way funnier than it should have been.

Best part:

"This is my Doc,... uh my uncle, Doc."

Doh! I keep forgeting there is anothe "christopher" - but at least we agree. That made me pump a turd. Thank you for linking this, it was enough to validate the emergence of the "blogosphere" as an exceptable way to waste one's time.

Funny as hell, but looks touching as well. I never realized Christopher Lloyd could do romantic dramas so well. It's in the eyes.

Mel Brooks hasn't made a funny movie since History of the World and even that one is a serious drop off from Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and The Producers.

I remember reading a DVD review for Spaceballs in which it was said that "This is the only movie in history to be made exacty ten years too late and ten years too early". Even releasing it while Star Wars was still relevant couldn't have made that funny. Jar Jar scenes are funnier than Spaceballs.

Men in Tights - Sucked
Life Stinks - Not terrible, but not too good either.
