Safe and Sane Cutting

NURSES want patients who are intent on harming themselves to be provided with clean blades so that they can cut themselves more safely...

This could include giving the “self-harm” patients sterile blades and clean packets of bandages or ensuring that they keep their own blades clean. Nurses would also give patients advice about which parts of the body it is safer to cut.

Is there really a need for this? Are there a lot of cases of people getting infections from self inflicted wounds? I didn't think "cutters" shared blades like druggies share needles, but maybe I'm wrong.

I guess I do see the point in fresh bandages though.

Cutters are Darwinism in action. Let 'em go. Same goes for smokers. Neither should be able to seek treatment for health problems that arise as a direct result of their retarded habits. That's why my premiums are so damn steep.

Safe and Sane?

Christ, talk about accentuating a problem. They should be forced to wear medievil steel meshing constantly - then beaten.

Its like these jerks who want to legalise weed, a hippie uprising would lead to a junkie uprising and soon I could buy black tar with my bread and milk. Laws are made in our best interests...

Liberty man, its a ridiculous thing.
