Conversation, exploration, manipulation, stimulation, penetration, consummation, procreation, domestication...

Someone recently arrived at this blog via a google search for how to write a punk song. I checked out the list and found this essay.

"It really all depends on what type of punk you want to write," says the author. Plus:

It helps to show a little anger because that is what it's kinda about. You can mix in the feelings that you have about something currently occurring in your life, then compare and contrast it with what is going on around the world, nation ect.

Using big and intellectual words helps you to prove your point in a way that makes you sound maybe a bit more prudent than in actuality. Rhyming words with the suffix tion in the end seems pretty easy (i.e. emancipation, vindication).

Totally.

"I know words like 'sobriquet', 'malaise', and 'plutocrat'."

Sounds more like "How to write a Bad Religion Song."

Is it sad that as soon as I read those words, I knew which MTX song and album they came from? At least you have it in the archives where I screwed up on which album "Love American Style" was on when I asked when it would be on iTunes for me to get a download of it due to it being the only ruined song on the scratched CD.......

but it's not from an MTX album at all...

I'm just pissed that Michelle got off that Bad Religion shot before me. :)

Are you sure that those words were not in "Population Us", Josh? I thought I was and don't have my iPod handy at the moment.

Frank's solo record. Not MTX.

yeah, what he said.

Oh, dear........ Well I'll be buggered......

I know I'm late to this argument, but it's from Alcatraz (which is, last time I checked, an MTX album). The song is "I wrote a book about Rock and Roll."

Sheesh.

Sheesh, indeed.

They are from "Population: Us", which (last time I checked) is from Dr. Frank's solo record, Show Business is My Life. Good lord, people.

OK, I just realized the problem. Some of us (myself included) are talking about the title of Frank's post, and the others are talking about the first comment, which is from IWABARnR.

Now, let's never speak of this again.

It's from population us. It was the theme to my wedding. We had a pretty funny wedding.

Didn't Fifteen have an album with a bunch of songs that ended in -tion?
