Stuff & Nonsense

oskdp.jpg

As you can see, I just got a few advance copies of the King Dork paperback, which is officially out on Feb. 12. It includes a "preview" of a chunk of the first chapter of Andromeda Klein in the back.

As with the hardcover, Little Type will be selling autographed copies of the paperback when it's available. I'll post a link when I have one, so watch this space. Autographed hardcovers are still available, and we'll probably keep selling those through Little Type as before as long as there is interest and as long as they last. The paperback is inexpensive and is the latest thing, but the hardback still makes a great gift, etc.

Also, there's a story of mine called "Mark Pang and the Impossible Square" in this collection of baseball stories, which comes out in March.

No new news on the King Dork movie as of yet, but I believe the next step is to hurry up and wait for the writers' strike to be resolved.

Finally, my band is playing a show at the Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on Friday, January 25, with the Hi-Fives and the Helper Monkeys. Info and tickets here.

OK, I gotta get back to work.

I just finished King Dork. My girlfriend bought it for me for XMas, and I really liked it a lot and am excited about your new book. I've been a fan of yours for quite some time, and the real reason I'm writing is to ask how come you never posted anything about insubordination fest. Melissa and I were there and MTX was a big factor in our deciding to drive all the way to Baltimore from New Orleans. Anyway, what did you think about playing? and what's the deal with MTX anyway? I know you're playing in SF this month. Are you recording anything new or what?

Anyway, thanks in advance for your response. I know you will not fail me.

come to new orleans.

Looking forward to the baseball book coming out in a couple of months, as well as Andromeda Klein; but August of 2009 is the release date? Is that a misprint on Amazon? If it isn't, then hopefully you and/or your publisher can move that up a bit. 18 months seems like a hell of a long time....
