A Terrible and Disturbing Addiction

The kids on the pop-punk message "bored" have been complaining about the fact that this here blog is a shadow of its former self, and I can see their point.

Basically, I've been lost in the novel-writing vortex. Has that ever happened to you? While you're vortexing, coming up with interesting or witty things to post on your blog is the last thing on your mind, and may actually be physically impossible. Instead, from deep within the vortex's isolation chamber, I roused myself to post a song every so often, just to keep something on the front page and let people know there was still a person somewhere in there; and also because they're songs I liked. It's kind of, maybe, like the slowest rolling "mix tape" ever. Or something like that.

Now, you'd probably be surprised how much there is to do to make a finished book all the way finished after you have technically already finished it, and I'm going to be doing quite a bit of that.

But if you're really the sort of person who prefers shameless self-promotion and "literary" hucksterism ad nauseam to a nice song by the Tom Robinson Band or the Mama Cass, then I can promise you you're in for a real treat in the coming months.

I'll have a few kind of cool announcements any time now.

In the meantime, you can pre-order Andromeda Klein here.

Oh boy, you're just having one of those days, aren't you!

I'm looking forward to the kind of cool announcements. The IT police at work added an anti-YouTube filter to the network essentially turning the slowest rolling mix tape into Name that Tune-length audio/video snippets. Once again work is intruding into my leisure pursuits.

I must say, I've rather enjoyed your musical selections. i have been reminded of old times, and introduced to new gems.

I'm looking forward to the new book...maybe a new album some time?
All the best,
Jeff

I look forward to my daily dose of musical flashbacks, though I'm usually naked by the end of the song.

Is it about a young adult disease that nearly wipes out mankind?

Because that would kinda rock.

Congrats, Frank! The cover makes it look like the YA version of Carnivale.

August 25th it says. $13 for the book isn't bad. I think I paid $30 for Kind Dork. The Audio-CD is $32 though. Who the hell did you get to read and record it? James Earl Jones, Patrick Stewart?

At last!!! The wait is almost over...

We know it must be rough. But, what do you expect? I'll tell you: we expect Mr. Word Smith to pound out something witty, masterful, controversial, and multi-layered like it's another day at the office. Is that so hard? Huh?

everything said on the pop punk bored sounds like complaining; i think they just missed ya. i can't be positive but hopefully they realize an absence of words here will feel like nothing once they actually hold the novel and indulge in all of its words.
very excited for the release. the slowest rolling mixtape ever did the job. Jeff nailed it: "I must say, I've rather enjoyed your musical selections. i have been reminded of old times, and introduced to new gems."
