That is to say, I have been awarded an honorary doctorate from Crawdaddy! University. I have never had anything bestowed upon me before, that I can recall.
Posted by Dr. Frank at May 11, 2009 08:26 PM | TrackBackAwesome! Mr. Roe writes a good article...but anyone who tries to define you has missed the point. Congrats on the pseudo-PhD. Do you feel more doctorish? And...is that the light at the end of the tunnel behind you in the pic below??

Posted by: aaron at May 12, 2009 12:20 AMThe article writer does make a point that I've been meaning to ask about but haven't exactly figured out how to, *queue segway* Is there going to be be more Dr. Frank or MTX music in the near future or have you fully transitioned to novelist?
Posted by: Z at May 12, 2009 03:40 PMDon't you have a doctorate already? Or am I making that up?
Posted by: Shotzi at May 14, 2009 12:47 AMCongratulations, Frank! I've always thought that one of your strengths as a lyricist is your ability to puncture self-indulgence, but to do so sympathetically. "Sackcloth and Ashes" is a great example of that, as is, "Everybody Knows You're Crying" (come to think of it, both of those songs are about self-pity, too...).
So, your new degree raises a question: should we start calling you "Dr. Dr. Frank?" Which raises a second, related question: can't you see I'm burning, burning?
