There's nothing like writing a novel to teach you humility

That's one of the better lines from this "micro-interview" appearing on The Morning News today (actually a distillation of a much longer phone interview I did with Jay Hathaway a ways back -- thanks, Jay.)

Is that your room? It looks like a hotel room.

Jay Hathaway? I love that guy. Mrs. Driesdale always berates and belittles him though. I think he's got a secret crush on Jethrena although he seems more the Ernie-Moe type.

Kids, booze, drugs and Nick at Night don't mix.

Runny nose, don't be a snot. That is his place. I recognize the fireplace. California in general is a very expensive place to live. Mom and Dad would probably need to rent a room to a boarder or two, sell some blood and prostitute Mom down in the warehouse district in order for to afford the nice 3 bedroom home that I and your parents have in suburbia outside of CA.

Keep your shirt on, Zaphod.

I'm not clear on what you found so objectionable or sarcastic my post.

I was referring to the photograph of Dr. Frank in the mirror -- not the fiberglass arm / fireplace mantel picture. The thing is, the room in that photo resembles the suites of an obscure Midwestern hotel chain I've stayed at over the years.

Maybe try to calm down a little bit.
