'"Originally called Changes, the movie was retitled Head, partly as a drug reference and partly so that Raybert's next production, Easy Rider, could be marketed with the slogan "From the guys who gave you Head"'

The Guardian's Dorian Lynskey commemorates the Monkees' Head.

I saw Head at an artsy fartsy film place in Cambridge, Mass. circa 1980. My rock scholar friend at that time was very attuned to stuff like this, and he did it all before the Internet. He read all the long articles in Goldmine, for example. There were about ten people at the screening. It is a good movie. It was a period piece ten years after it came out. What would it be like now, 35 years after it came out? I kinda sorta want to see it again.
