Even Hitler had a Girlfriend

That's Hank Green, John's brother.

added:

"ARGH. NO MAN CAN CALL A WOMAN HIS OWN!!!"

The youtube comments include some, er, critiques. It's often interesting what happens when one of my songs is out "in the wild" like that.

i've been wondering for a while... did you make up the phrase "the odds are pretty good, but the goods are pretty odd" or did it exist before this song?

I'm pretty sure it existed before.

ok. it was the first place i heard it and i've heard it a few other places since then. at first i thought they were referencing the song, but then thinking about it later the sources didn't seem like people who would have heard of it... so then i wasn't sure if the phrase was older or if they just heard it somewhere not knowing it was from the song.

googling the phrase "the goods are pretty odd" in google news archive brings up a 1994 article from the Denver post referring to the line itself as "musty".
