All of the books referenced on Aliens and Children are printed by reputable publishers.
If you will check the drawings closely in regards to the Mantis aliens, you will notice that they are not completely humanoid and the girl has drawn them with eyes on stalks, somewhat like a snails eyes.
However, the grays do look somewhat humanoid. There is also a real photo of an alien on the website and on stopabductions.com.
