Don't you think it's perverse to continually show people reading your book? Yes, you're an author, and a good one, too -- showing corporeal proof of this fact on your own website makes inquisitive minds like mine wonder whether your self-esteem is very low or very high (don't worry, I know it's the former.) Keep the photos in a photo album, or on your wall -- but on your website?

I don't know, I think it's kind of fun. The "tradition" started spontaneously with King Dork, when I posted one picture of a friend reading it and people started sending in their own.

Anyway, I hope you like the book.

It IS fun, and frankly one of many reasons I continually come back and check out what is going on with this blog.

I don't understand the problem.

Speaking as the person who started the "tradition", I suggest that it should be my self-esteem in question. Why should one require pictorial evidence that one reads? It suppose it's sort of like how before cameras, people would be painted next to globes (to indicate worldliness,) and hang the painting on their own walls. I am a worthwhile human being, and no one can tell me otherwise. I have proof.
